Let me explain to you what baptism means...
On dictionary.com baptism is:
But in the Catholic church, we believe baptism is SO much more than that. In our baptism, we are freed from our sin and reborn to God. We are members of Christ and His Church. Catholics believe that "baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." So, what does this mean for you baby girl? This does NOT just mean entering a life with Christ when you walk through the church doors on Sundays. It means LIVING a Christlike life every day in your actions and words. I know this does not mean much to you now (Cause really, how much can a beautiful 2 month old girl choose to walk with or without God?) but I hope you see how beautiful it can be to walk with Christ and trust in His ways as you get older. I hope and pray each day that your dad and I can lead by that example for you so that it is an easy decision for you to rise to Christ each day.
And my beautiful daughter, at only 2 months old, you have already brought people to Christ. At mass on Saturday night before you were baptized, I looked around at all the people who were there for YOU and to see you get baptized to become a part of God's family. I was so grateful that they all came. We have been blessed with the most amazing family in the world. You have already brought them closer to God by the prayers they prayed for you on that day. But, not am I only thankful for our family by blood, I am thankful for the family you entered through baptism. I pray that you can see the importance of that family and choose to walk with Christ in your words and actions.
